Muntu's world premiere of "Bride from the South", choreographed by Abdel Salaam, depicts the Nubian presence in ancient Kemet. Graceful and sensual, moving and powerful, "Bride from the South", tells the story of the courtship ritual of the women from the south of Kemet.

Other works featured in this concert include:
- Mujuboo Rock, a collaborative creation by Muntu's artistic director and the company's young and aspiring choreographers, which originally premiered in December 2008
- Tomaka / Liberte', choreographed by Muntu's assistant artistic director Idy Ciss, a dance of freedom from Guinea West Africa, celebrating the Independence of countries such as Guinea, Senegal, that have succeeded in their efforts to unify
- Walk Of The Djalli, featuring special guest artist Djalli Mori Keba Kouyate on the kora.
