HARRIS THEATER NEWS: Mikhail Baryshnikov, Lang Lang, Chrisoph Eschenbach, Stephen Sondheim, Evelyn Glennie and Kathleen Battle Headline Harris Theater for Music and Dance 2009-2010 Harris Theater Presents Season The Harris has reduced ticket and subscription prices this season, with individual programs priced as low as just $35. Subscriptions will go on sale May 18, 2009 and single tickets will go on sale August 1, 2009. Subscriptions and single tickets will be available at the Harris Theater box office located in Millennium Park at 205 E Randolph Dr., by calling 312-334-7777 or by visiting www.harristheaterchicago.org.
HARRIS THEATER NEWS: Harris Theater presentation of Pinchas Zukerman's 60th Birthday Recital to be broadcast on WFMT-FM, May 3 at 4 pm. The Harris Theater is pleased to announce the Pinchas Zukerman and Marc Neikrug recital that took place at the Harris in February will be broadcast on WFMT-FM on Sunday, May 3 at 4 pm. This memorable Harris Theater Presents performance features legendary violinist Pinchas Zukerman, celebrating his 60th birthday year, and esteemed pianist Marc Neikrug, Zukerman's musical collaborator of 30 years, performing Mozart's Sonata in B-Flat, K454; Viola Sonata, Op. 147 by Shostakovich; Takemitsu's From Far Beyond Chrysamthemums and November Fog; and Franck's Sonata in A. The Pinchas Zukerman 60th Birthday Recital at the Harris Theater was made possible with the support of the Smart Family Foundation, Inc., Presenting Foundation Sponsor and John Hart and Carol Prins, Lead Sponsors. Steve Reich's Double Sextet - commissioned by eighth blackbird and given its Chicago Premiere at the Harris Theater last season - has won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Music.
