Hubbard Street Dance Chicago
Hubbard Street’s Spring Series at the Harris Theater realizes the Chicago Premiere of a multi-year collaboration
with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, based in San Francisco, California. Two of the most renowned dance companies in
America joining forces on one stage presents the rare opportunity to see a “supergroup” of contemporary and neoclassical dancers.
AZIMUTH by LINES Ballet Artistic Director Alonzo King pushes the dancers’ artistic and physical boundaries while extracting their most unique and compelling qualities. The contrast between Hubbard Street’s evenly weighted, earthy athleticism and LINES Ballet’s ethereal architecture of torsions produces content itself, as King experiments with pairs featuring dancers from each group.
