Ever find yourself in a conversation about race and identity where you just get...stuck? Code Switch is here to help and WBEZ’s Podcast Passport, in partnership with the The Fest curated by Third Coast, is bringing them to Chicago!

The Code Switch team is made up of journalists of color, and this isn’t just the work they do. It’s the lives they lead. Sometimes, they make you laugh. Other times, you’ll get uncomfortable. But you’ll always find unflinching honesty and empathy.

The reporting team has tackled the constantly-shifting and overlapping themes of race, ethnicity and culture and how they play out in people’s lives and communities. Named after the many ways people shift how they express race and culture in daily life, Code Switch aims to deepen the coverage of these topics and capture the issues that define an increasingly diverse America.

Come mix it up with us.

Launched in 2013, NPR’s Code Switch team has made its mark as a blog on NPR.org, with segments on NPR’s signature shows and now as a podcast.

The Fest, curated by Third Coast International Audio Festival, is a spectacular two-week lineup of live podcasts in Chicago this November, in venues across the city. See more at www.thefestchicago.org.
