Danzon!, by Ballet Chicago Resident Choreographer Ted Seymour, transports audiences to a warm street corner in Mexico. Set to the rhythmic and rich score of Arturo Marquez’s Danzon No. 2, this dance work combines Latin ballroom styles with classical ballet. Originally choreographed in 2014 in collaboration with the Lakeview Orchestra, Danzon! premiered on the Harris Theater stage on May 30, 2015.
