Mix at Six showcases some of the most innovative, exciting artists in three dynamic performances for the 2026–27 season. American funk-rock band The Main Squeeze kicks off the series with their optimistic and electrifying sound, returning to the Harris Theater after their stellar on-stage accompaniment with The Joffrey Ballet last season. Spring 2027 sees groundbreaking performances by musicians propelling jazz into bold new territories, beginning with acclaimed Chicago-based cellist Tomeka Reid’s tribute to Duke Ellington, which fuses tradition and innovation. The season concludes with avant-garde guitarist and composer Mary Halvorson and her new quartet project Canis Major.

All Mix at Six performances begin at 6:00 p.m. and are about 60–75 minutes in length. Audience members are encouraged to stick around after the performance to meet the featured performers and mingle with one another. With food vendors and drink specials (allowed in the hall!), it makes for the perfect weeknight outing.
