It serves not only as a tribute to the state’s influential talent but also as the Museum’s largest fundraising event, supporting preservation efforts, exhibits, and educational programs that keep Illinois music history alive for future generations.

About the Illinois Rock & Roll Museum

The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 is a nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating the musical legacy of Illinois artists, industry professionals, and historic venues. Located in downtown Joliet, the Museum showcases exhibitions, memorabilia, educational programming, and live performances that honor the state’s influential contributions to rock, blues, soul, and popular music.

The Museum produces the annual Illinois Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, a signature statewide event recognizing artists, songwriters, broadcasters, and industry leaders whose work has shaped generations of music lovers. Through community engagement, youth programs, and cultural preservation, the Museum strengthens Illinois’ creative ecosystem and ensures that its rich musical heritage is passed on to future generations.

A museum exhibit features a large Chuck Berry display with a life‑size photo of him performing, a red Gibson guitar in a glass case, and framed photos and text panels. Nearby sections highlight Chicago blues and country music, and a colorful oversized guitar sculpture painted with STYX and REO Speedwagon imagery stands to the right.
