Performance Run Time: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including intermission.

This engaging evening of chamber music features works by Dvořák, Mozart, and Weber. Dvořák’s Drobnosti (Miniatures) for Two Violins and Viola, which he wrote for family friends of the composer and intended to play the viola part himself, offer a set of intimate character pieces that highlight the warmth of the string trio. Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in A major, one of his crowning chamber works and the first great clarinet quintet ever written, established the instrument as a central voice in the repertoire through its effortless dialogue with the strings.

The evening concludes with Weber’s Clarinet Quintet in B-flat major, a nearly operatic work that explores the instrument’s extraordinary technical possibilities and impressive range. All together, this curated selection of works makes for an unforgettable night of musical splendor.

Clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois shines in these works and is joined by acclaimed violinists Aaron Boyd and Danbi Um; cellist Nicholas Canellakis, “a superb young soloist” (The New Yorker); and violist Paul Neubauer, regarded by The New York Times as a “master musician.”
