Performance Run Time: Approximately 60–75 minutes, no intermission.

Acclaimed Chicago-based cellist and composer Tomeka Reid shares her groundbreaking new work, In Tribute to Duke Ellington. The work fuses tradition and innovation, capturing the essence of Ellington, all while propelling jazz into bold new territories. Audiences experience the spirit of a genius reimagined through the lens of one of today’s leading visionary artists.

Tomeka Reid, described by The New York Times as a “new jazz power source,” has emerged as one of the most original, versatile, and curious musicians in Chicago’s bustling jazz and improvised music community. Her distinctive melodic sensibility, always rooted in a strong sense of groove, has been featured in many distinguished ensembles over the years.

All Mix at Six performances begin at 6:00 p.m. and are about 60–75 minutes in length. Audience members are encouraged to stick around after the performance to meet the featured performers and mingle with one another.
